This morning saw Cape Town’s Grassy Spark announced as opening act for In The City, congratulations guys!


With just 12 days to go, TWELVE DAYS KIDS, this is always a great event put together by the Seed Experiences team to make sure those stuck in Jhb do not miss out on the Rocking the Daisies vibe.

As anticipation builds up to see The Kooks, Milky Chance AND The Cat Empire live at Emmerentia Dam, the Seed Experiences and In The City teams have been putting together little events leading up to show day that not only will be loads of fun, but could see you win yourself some rad prizes!

In only a few short weeks the lawns of Emmerentia Dam will be transformed into one of Jozi’s most loved music festivals, Vodacom In The City. Vodacom and Seed Experiences didn’t think one day of Vodacom In The City was enough and so they are bringing the vibe and energy of the festival, to a venue near you.
In the lead up to the highly anticipated day-time event on Sunday 4 October, they’ll be hosting eight awesome events aimed at getting lovers of music (and other cool things) together in and around Jozi and Pretoria.

Puma Fishtail Heritage Ride
Thursday 24 September
Great Dane, Braamfontein

Puma are bringing their unique Fishtail Ride experience to Jozi for the second time. The first 20 riders get to use an exclusive Fishtail bicycle, while additional bikes can be rented at R150 a bike and you are free to bring your own bike. See the city from a unique angle, as you tour inner Johannesburg, Newtown and Braamfontein on this cultural experience. End off this energetic day with a drink at Great Dane Bar.

It’s what childhood dreams are made of! We’ve hired out ALL of the boats at Zoo Lake for an awesome day on the dam. Get dressed up, bring your water guns and go head-to-head with other boats as you try to take them over. Come prepared to get wet and bring your sunscreen, or just chill on the dam banks while you watch all the action. Prizes will be awarded for best-dressed and best sieges!

City-to-City Bus with Lazola Gola

We always look for unique ways to incorporate art into #VITC2015 and this year is no different. Through our various Instagram campaigns including #MyVITCStyle, #VITCSunriseInstaWalk and #MyVITCCity we will be exhibiting your photos at Braamfontein’s popular cultural activation First Thursdays. Prizes will be awarded on the night for outstanding pictures. This is a public event and photos will be displayed on the wall outside Great Dane.

This morning saw the announcement for the TOP 10 in the Converse: GET OUT OF THE GARAGE 2015 campaign.


On Friday 4th of September, Converse Sub-Saharan Africa saw the close for submissions into the fourth Converse Get Out Of The Garage 2015 competition. A platform dedicated to encouraging musicians from across South Africa to enter their best tracks to win an unforgettable experience. We’d like to thank the 2015 judges, Catherine Grenfell, Okmalumkoolkat and Darryl Torr, as well as each of the 248 bands and artists who entered.

From 248 entries, here are your TOP 10:

This weekend sees the ‘DIRTY ROTTEN TEQUILA FESTIVAL’ bring the legendary CARFAX alive!!

The legendary Carfax in Newtown is re-opening its doors for one of many events for 2014.
Being one of Johannesburg’s most famous venues, these walls have seen some of the best national and international DJ’s, bands and promoters do their thing for over more than 10 years. This iconic production, festival and arts venue will be officially opening its doors again on the 21st of June due to a high demand from party-goers and promoters.

With a line-up made featuring some of SA’s best bands and DJ’s this day out, filled with tequila, is sure to be a good one!!
Winter? What Winter… Some of the best tequila’s as well as 5 of SA’s Craft Breweries available, the cold will not be something to worry about for sure.

You may have missed the news, but the DStv Delicious Festival returns to whip Joburg into a foodie frenzy
Trio of top UK bands confirmed for family lifestyle event!


“Three British music acts – jazz-funk pioneers the Brand New Heavies, club favourites Soul II Soul and acid jazz outfit Incognito – will headline this year’s DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, taking place at Emmarentia Dam on 31 May.

Last year’s inaugural Delicious Festival was such a success that this family lifestyle event is back with a delectable bang in 2014.

The DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival, presented in association with Castle Milk Stout, Whirlpool, Mitsubishi Motors and Kaya FM, will again lay on a lavish feast of entertainment and culinary fare, this time in the picturesque setting of the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens.”

This chilled-out open-air festival attracted some 20 000 visitors to its inaugural event last October, with the combination of scrumptious food and superb music proving a sure-fire winner with the crowds.
