The awesome team who have put together this great festival have given us some tickets for you to get yout DIRTY ROTTEN TEQUILA on…

Simple, either comment on this post below, Twitter us and Facebook us who you are looking forward to playing at DIRTY ROTTEN TEQUILA FESTIVAL 2018 live at Carfax. The more entries the better your chances, think of it like as ‘The Tequila made me do it’ kinda entry.

Dirtier than a sweaty sombrero in summertime, more rotten than a politician’s fake handshake, and more Tequila than a Mockingbird’s bloodstream. It’s time to turn the bass to burrito, the treble to taco, and pop the tops off some exotic cactus potion, in celebration of the almighty Agave at 2018’s most hedonistic extravaganza, The Dirty Rotten Tequila Festival, set to be held at long-time, wooden-shinned institution of jol, Carfax, on the 21st of April.

This year, we bring you a vision-blurringly wide variety of Tequilas, along with a smorgasbord of fine foods that even boast certain infusions with our favourite Mexican nectars.

Two stages of live entertainment, including the “Don’t Drink The Worm” stage featuring some of SA’s filthiest rock bands, that will abandon your sadness and create an atmosphere to execute even your most wild and daring dance moves, as the pace of multiplying shots and cocktails go rapidly down thirsty throats.

In addition, there will also be unique activation’ with a few tricks up their sleeves on the day, with loads of cool prizes to be won, and perhaps even allowing those who fancy a ride on a bull, a dance on a pole, or maybe just like getting a T-shirt wet, a chance to do so.

“Don’t Drink The Worm” Stage Line-up and info:

2pm – Strait-Jackal will be handing out straight shots.
3pm – FRAME JANKO will be licking the salt.
4pm – Raygun Royale will be slicing the limes.
5pm – Lost&Found will be gathering car keys.
6pm – The Tazers will be electrocuting hips.
7pm – Southern Wild will be igniting eyes.
8pm – Hellcats will be ordering another round.
9pm – Shadowclub will be in charge of the guns and money.
10pm – FUZIGISH will be bringing a fat ska beating.

Don’t waste any time, gather up your friends, get your tickets now, and let the excitement build toward #DRTF2018, as we count down ‘One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila… More!’

Good Luck!

The Easter Weekend calls for a getaway to Clarens with the 3rd annual LUSH Festival, presented by OFM and KykNET, taking place from 29 March to 2 April 2018.

Taking place from 29 March to 2 April on Linwood Farm in the town of Clarens (an easy three-hour drive from Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Pretoria), Lush offers something for everyone.

For those who love a challenge, there are Mountain Bike Trails and a fun trail run set against a breath-taking backdrop, guided tours traversing through South Africa’s rich and rugged landscape and horseback riding among the majestic countryside. For those seeking the thrill of adventure, fly high in a hot air balloon ride, experience white-knuckle rapids while river rafting, or enjoy the breath-taking scenery of cliffs and rock formations as you abseil in the Maluti Mountains.

If music ignites your senses, you’ll relish in Lush’s live music line-up including American rock band Bowling For Soup, Dave Depper (from Death Cab For Cutie), Kyp Malone (from TV on the Radio), Laura Burhenn (from The Mynabirds), Pierce Brothers (AUS), as well as a wealth of top South African talent including Anton Goosen, Fokofpolisiekar, TiMO ODV, Jack Parow, Goodluck, Dewald Wasserfall, Monark, Albert Frost, WONDERboom, and many more. There’s also delicious food on offer for those hungry to try something new and don’t worry about the trip back home every evening after your musical feast. An array of different accommodation in and around the Festival ensures you’ll settle comfortably for the night whether you’re an independent traveller who prefers camping or a glam packer who wants a boutique B&B to recharge in.

The farm, after 3 years of grooming and infrastructural support, is becoming an incredibly beautiful gem and somewhere beautiful to just be with friends – next to the river, under all the willow trees or in the poplar forest. Festival attendees will be able to make use of Mountain Bike Trails in the area and there will be a 5km fun run with a fancy-dress element taking place on the Saturday, 31 March, with various prizes for the top three finishers and those best dressed” says Damon Forbes, Festival organiser.

I’ve been real fortunate to watch this band perform and grow over the years. Not only are they truly talented, they really are some of the nicest gentlemen you will meet! So when the news broke they will be doing a little tour internationally I could not help but let out a happy smile!

Mi Casa have a total of 14 confirmed tour dates that spans over Europe, North America and Canada.

After taking control of their brand and announcing their new company 34 Music, Mi Casa embark on a new journey to their international tour. Mi Casa will be travelling to Europe, North America and Canada during the month of July and August 2015. The European leg kicks off in London and they will be making their way through to Holland, Italy, Spain and Portugal. The second leg of their tour will be in North America & Canada where they will be performing in New York City, San Francisco and Toronto.

So if you find yourself in one of the below countries, or have family & friends in the vicinity, be sure to have them go and check the guys out whilst they’re on tour. Share the love..

Rise & Shine Festival

There has always been something special for me about Rise & Shine Festival, from that very first one, with that early morning Yoga session, and when I say early morning Yoga session, I mean I sat on the grass with a coffee & a iced-tea with a little Vodka for a kick, taking in the early morning fresh air whilst the Yogi led the session 😀

This one will be no different, I may actually make the Yoga session, who knows.. Nonetheless, Sandton’s favourite eco-friendly music festival returns to Sandton Central Park this Saturday, 28 March.
